My name is Le Khanh Linh, a student at VNU.HCM High School for the Gifted. In 2013, I got the second prize at the National Mathematical Olympic contest with calculators. That achievement in such a stressful competition was indeed a worthwhile experience, from which I sustained the competitive environment. In addition, in order to be sociable, I pursued the bilingual programme French – Vietnamese and achieved 8.8/10 in the FIEF, which is the examination for lower secondary students to graduate from the bilingual program. This result was worthy of my endeavour in a long time.
When I was very young, I was oriented towards being a doctor, which is a usual career choice in my country. One day, I unexpectedly saw an article about a successful Vietnamese businesswoman named Tho. After studying abroad, she has executed some hospitality projects for the European Union. She then became a marketing manager for a five-star hotel called Caravelle in Ho Chi Minh city. Through the article, I noticed that hotel management was a fantastic career, allowing me to work in an international environment, improve my interpersonal skills and comprehend cultures around the world. As I always desire to enlarge my knowledge and like brainstorming innovative ideas, that major inspired me so strongly that I decided to take the Bachelor of Business Administration in International Hotel Management at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, Switzerland.
I really appreciate education, so I eagerly want to approach the education system in Switzerland, a leading country of hospitality, where my skills are enhanced to a higher degree. According to Taylor Nelson Sofres Survey 2013, three of the top four hospitality management schools worldwide are Swiss institutes, and Les Roches ranks among the top three for an international career. Furthermore, Les Roches is one of only three Swiss universities accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition, with the unique study program, including studies and internships, I can practice what I learn. Moreover, there are many five-star hotels in my country, but almost all the managers are foreign nationals. Managing hotels in Vietnam by the Vietnamese with high level and capacity would be fantastic. Therefore, I firmly believe that studying at one of the world’s highest-ranked schools at the birthplace of hospitality will also help fulfil my passionate aspiration.
After graduating from Les Roches, I want to return to Vietnam to enhance my skills and begin my career. I would like to experience competitive environments to obtain the manager position, especially in famous hotels such as Pan Pacific Hanoi, The Reverie Saigon or Novotel Danang Premier Han River.
I hereby guarantee that I will leave Switzerland at the end of my studies.
